I've tried autotest with the patch[1] and it seeks to work with my namespaced controllers in app/controllers/admin/*.

[...] Last time, I was complaining about rSpec refusing to play nice with the TextMate plugin. I owe the team an apology(in the unlikelihood event of them actually reading the entry), as getting it working is a bit confusing. [...]

The capability's there in the new system, both for putting links in the main body and having them siphoned out into the gallery/insert sidebar..but not many stories out here call for them and most of the newsroom staff haven't yet been trained on the editing interface. I'm hopeful that the younger reporters will be quick to pick up on it once the app evens out a bit more, though.

Thanks for the thumbs-up!

Impressive work. Seriously. I love almost everything about it.

Newspapers needs to start linking from their articles, though. The first local newspaper that writes an article that is actually for the web will win my subscription.

There are a <a href="http://www.jluster.org/scriptor/2008/01/02/zed-is-so-ghetto-and-i-love-it/" rel="nofollow">few</a> <a href="http://www.dennmart.com/2008/01/03/zed-shaw-exposing-the-ghetto/" rel="nofollow">others</a> out there, but yeah, most people want to titter behind raised hands and haughtily point out that his language and manner are "so unprofessional". Whatever.

I'm all about the zero effort version control.

I have really liked TextMate every time I have used it. I wish there was an equivalent on Linux.

Thanks!

This is a full-time position, and I'll probably be there for the next few years. They're interested in building a back-end system they can license out(and offer parts as open-source). Since I'd be the lone coder working on it, I'd have significantly more input into design than I did at my previous job.

That's pretty cool. Good luck down in Yakima!

Are you going to have to bounce around the country, or is this a ongoing contract with the Herald?
